The Foster Parents Association (FPA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1986.  We came into existence as a network group for all foster parents to meet and greet.  These parents addressed concerns and Foster Parent Association forwarded them to the Department of Family and Children Services.  Overtime FPA has become an advocate for foster parents and their families.  We are a vital additional support to the Department of Child and Family Services.

We feel it is extremely important to raise as much funds as we can for The Foster Parent Association (FPA).  Our Association assists foster parents and children in Bermuda Foster Care system.  We assist with:

*Glenda Edwards Scholarship for University  *Continued Workshops for Foster Parents

*Medical Expenses                                                *Emergency funds for Foster Children

*Educational Trips with Schools                       *Extra-Curricular Activities

*Duffle bags for moving foster homes           *Back to School Parties

*Laptops for Senior School Students               *Christmas Parties

Without generous contributions from the public we would not exists.  Last year we were able to purchase a wheelchair for a foster child that is wheelchair bound.  Any donation is always helpful.  The duffle bags we provide so that the children can have their dignity when they move from their home to a foster family.  We have learned over the years that the children feel more ashamed when they have to back their belonging in trash bags.  When children age out of the system, we try to help with their educational dreams.
